Air Fryer Lava Cakes are a yummy dessert recipe for the air fryer, chocolate cake with a molten lava center perfect served with ice cream!
Put the chocolate and butter in a large to medium size bowl. Microwave for 1 minute, stir until the butter and chocolate are melted and combined.
Add the powdered sugar, flour, 2 of the eggs plus just the yolk from the third egg, and the vanilla. Stir until combined.
Spray 4 ramekins or small oven/air fryer safe glass bowls with nonstick spray. Divide the batter evenly between the 4 bowls.
Place the bowls in the air fryer at 400 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes. Let them cool for a few minutes then carefully turn them upside down on a plate (use a towel as the bowls will be hot).
Leave them upside down on the plates for a few minutes, then carefully remove the bowls. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Note: Using plenty of nonstick spray and allowing the time with the bowls upside down on the plate will prevent them from falling apart once the bowl is removed... but even if they do fall part, they will still be yummy ;)
