Green Beans with Bacon

A perfect side dish with green beans and bacon, it's my kid's favorite side!

Ingredients
  • 1 pound green beans
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 Tbsp garlic paste or fresh minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsps butter
  • kosher salt, pepper, season salt
Instructions
  1. Trim the ends off of the green beans and cut them into inch size pieces.

  2. Boil the green beans in a pot of salted water for 5 minutes. Drain the water and set the green beans aside.

  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cut the bacon slices using kitchen scissors directly into the pan in bite size pieces. Cook the bacon 4-5 minutes. Drain some of the bacon grease.

  4. Add the diced onion to the skillet with the bacon. Cook 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Add the green beans, garlic, and butter. Season with kosher salt, pepper, and season salt. Cook 4-5 more minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste for seasoning and add more kosher salt, pepper, or season salt if needed.
