Black Bean and Sweet Potato Burgers are a healthy and easy vegetarian meal, they can be made in a skillet or air fryer and served on a bun or lettuce wrap!
Add the black beans to a bowl and mash them slightly with a fork. Add the cooked, mashed sweet potato, bread crumbs, spinach, garlic, olive oil, chili powder, paprika, cumin, kosher salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix with your hands or a spoon until evenly combined.
Form into four burger patties and place on a tray and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Cook the burgers according to one of these methods:
Air Fryer- Place the burgers in the air fryer basket, set the air fryer to 390 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
Skillet- Add a Tbsp of olive oil to a skillet over medium heat. Cook the burgers 4 to 5 minutes per side.
Serve on buns or lettuce wraps with toppings such as cilantro, ketchup, mayo, pickles, etc.
