Just say these words to yourself…Slow Cooker BBQ Pork with Bourbon Smoked Sugar…did it make your mouth water as much as it did mine?!
I was lucky enough to stumble upon this at a specialty market by my house. It’s the secret to creating a subtle smokey flavor in this BBQ Pork.
You can easily order this Whiskey Smoked Sugar from Amazon by clicking below if you can’t find it around you.
When you’re craving something BBQ and smokey, but don’t feel like messing around with actually smoking something, this is a delicious and flavorful alternative.
How to Make Slow Cooker BBQ Pork with Bourbon Smoked Sugar
I seasoned my pork loin overnight.
I slathered it with regular yellow mustard (or skip this if you prefer more of a dry rub) and my favorite BBQ seasoning mixed with brown sugar, kosher salt, pepper, and this Bourbon Smoked Sugar.

There was plenty of room in my fridge, so I put it right in the removable container of my slow cooker with the lid overnight (one less dish to wash is always a plus)
When you’re ready to cook, remove from the fridge, add about a cup of either beer or chicken broth to the crock pot.

Cook on low for 6 hours.

I pulled my Slow Cooker BBQ Pork with Bourbon Smoked Sugar with a pair of tongs and mixed it around the liquid to soak up even more flavor.
Seriously, it smells AMAZING!
