How to Make Slow Cooker BBQ Pork with Bourbon Smoked Sugar
I seasoned my pork loin overnight.
I slathered it with regular yellow mustard (or skip this if you prefer more of a dry rub).
And my favorite BBQ seasoning mixed with brown sugar, kosher salt, pepper, and this Bourbon Smoked Sugar.
There was plenty of room in my fridge, so I put it right in the removable container of my slow cooker with the lid overnight.
(one less dish to wash is always a plus)
When you’re ready to cook, remove from the fridge, add about a cup of either beer or chicken broth to the crock pot.
Cook on low for 6 hours.
I pulled my Slow Cooker BBQ Pork with Bourbon Smoked Sugar with a pair of tongs and mixed it around the liquid to soak up even more flavor.
Seriously, it smells AMAZING!
You could serve this as-is with BBQ sauce, or use it to make BBQ Pork Tacos like I did.
Soft tortillas with pork, BBQ sauce, red cabbage, Cotija cheese, and cilantro with lime wedges on the side.
