Fried Old Bay Shrimp is an easy recipe with shrimp seasoned to perfection, breaded, then fried served with an old Bay aioli for dipping

Ingredients
Fried Old Bay Shrimp
  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp old Bay seasoning
  • 1 egg
  • vegetable oil (enough to fill a small saucepan about an inch or two deep)
  • lemon wedges
Old Bay Aioli
  • 1/2 cup mayo
  • 1/2 Tbsp old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce of choice
Instructions
Fried Old Bay Shrimp
  1. Pat the shrimp dry and set aside. Combine the panko bread crumbs, cornstarch, and old Bay seasoning in one bowl. Crack the egg in a separate bowl and beat with a fork.

  2. Fill a small saucepan about one to two inches deep with vegetable oil. Set over medium heat for about four to five minutes. Use a thermometer to check and see when the oil reaches 350 degrees.

  3. Once the oil reaches 350 degrees dip a few shrimp in the egg and then coat well with the panko bread crumbs . Gently place four to five shrimp at a time into the oil for one to two minutes.

  4. Once golden brown, remove them and place on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining shrimp.

  5. Serve the shrimp with lemon wedges on the side and the old Bay aioli for dipping.

Old Bay Aioli
  1. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and serve with the shrimp.
