Cheese bites fried to crispy perfection in wonton wrappers
Cut each string cheese into three equal pieces.
Lay a wonton flat with a corner facing you. Place a piece of the string cheese in the center.
Dip your finger in the water and trace the edges of the wonton wrapper. Fold the sides in over the cheese. Roll the front corner over the cheese and roll until sealed (picture examples in post above). Repeat with remaining cheese bites.
Fill a small pan or skillet 1 inch deep with vegetable oil over medium heat. Wait about 4-5 minutes and check the temperature with an instant read thermometer. When the temperature is around 350 degrees gently place 5 to 6 cheese bites. Fry 1 minute per side.
Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle right away with parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning.
Serve with pizza sauce or marinara sauce for dipping.
