Ingredients
  • 4 pounds jumbo split chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice (approx 3 lemons)
  • 2 1/2 Tbsps lemon pepper seasoning (plus more to sprinkle over top before cooking)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsps brown sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • Optional: lemon wedge to squeeze over top before serving
Instructions
  1. Place the chicken wings in a gallon size plastic bag.

  2. In a bowl whisk together the lemon juice, lemon pepper seasoning, soy sauce, brown sugar, and crushed red pepper flakes. Pour this mixture over the wings and massage the bag until evenly mixed.

  3. Marinate in the fridge several hours or overnight.

  4. Remove the chicken wings from the bag and discard remaining marinade. Sprinkle with lemon pepper seasoning. Cook according to one of these methods.

Smoker: Place the chicken wings in a smoker set to 250 degrees for two and a half hours. Flip them halfway through. Check the internal temp to make sure they are at 170 degrees before serving.

Oven: In the oven: Place wings on a lined baking sheet and put in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes, flip them halfway through.

  5. Seve with a squeeze of lemon over top if desired.
