Ingredients
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 pound brussel sprouts
  • 2 honeycrisp apples
  • 3 Tbsps butter
  • kosher salt, pepper
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
  1. Use kitchen scissors to cut the bacon into bite size pieces directly into a skillet over medium heat. Cook 5 to 7 minutes, remove bacon pieces from the pan and set aside, leave a small amount of bacon grease in the skillet.

  2. Cut the brussel sprouts in half lengthwise, set aside. Dice the apples.

  3. Add butter to the same skillet with the bacon grease, still over medium heat. When the butter is melted, place the brussel sprouts cut side down in the skillet. Cook 4 minutes, then add the apples, maple syrup, chicken broth, kosher salt, and pepper. Cook an additional 5 to 7 minutes, gently stirring a few times.

  4. Stir the bacon in and serve.
