Ingredients
  • 4 yellow onions
  • kosher salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 Tbsps balsamic vinegar
  • 3 Tbsps brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsps butter
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup mayo
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives
  • 1 pound bacon cooked and crumbled
Instructions
  1. Thinly slice the onions and put them in the slow cooker. Add kosher salt. pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and butter. Turn the slow cooker on low for 8 to 10 hours, stir a few times throughout.

  2. Add the cream cheese, mayo, mozzarella cheese, chives, and cooked bacon crumbles. Cook on low 30 more minutes, stirring a few times.

  3. Once it's all melted together serve with crackers or toasted french bread.

Note: I sliced a french baguette, brushed each slice with olive oil and seasoned with kosher salt and pepper. Then baked in a 400 degree oven for 5 minutes.
