Slow Cooker Caramelized Onion and Bacon Dip is an easy and delicious dip made in the slow cooker, serve with crackers or toasted french bread
Thinly slice the onions and put them in the slow cooker. Add kosher salt. pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and butter. Turn the slow cooker on low for 8 to 10 hours, stir a few times throughout.
Add the cream cheese, mayo, mozzarella cheese, chives, and cooked bacon crumbles. Cook on low 30 more minutes, stirring a few times.
Once it's all melted together serve with crackers or toasted french bread.
Note: I sliced a french baguette, brushed each slice with olive oil and seasoned with kosher salt and pepper. Then baked in a 400 degree oven for 5 minutes.
