Ingredients
  • 2 pounds bone in chicken (split chicken breasts, thighs, or legs)
  • 2 Tbsps garlic paste (or 1 Tbsp garlic powder)
  • 2 Tbsps Old Bay seasoning
  • olive oil, kosher salt, pepper
  • Optional dipping sauce: melted butter with more Old Bay and hot sauce
Instructions
  1. Place the chicken in a gallon size plastic bag. Add olive oil, garlic paste, 1 Tbsp of the Old Bay seasoning, kosher salt, and pepper. Close the bag and massage until evenly coated. Marinate at least one hour or overnight.

  2. In the oven: Place the chicken on a lined baking sheet, sprinkle with the remaining 1 Tbsp Old Bay seasoning. Bake at 400 degrees for 45-55 minutes.

    In the smoker: Sprinkle the chicken with remaining 1 Tbsp Old Bay Seasoning, place in the smoker set to 225 degree for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

  3. Serve as is or with melted butter with Old Bay and hot sauce mixed together.
