An unbelievably unique sweet and sticky glaze for chicken wings!
Put the chicken wings into a gallon size plastic bag. Add the soy sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, and brown sugar. Close the bag and massage it until the marinade is evenly mixed. Put in the fridge to marinate overnight, turning and massaging the bag a few times.
Combine all of the glaze ingredients in a saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, whisking often.
Remove chicken wings from the marinade. Bake or smoke the chicken wings according to these directions. Use a thermometer to make sure they are at 170 degrees.
In the oven: Place wings on a lined baking sheet and put in a 400 degree oven for 45 minutes, flip them halfway through. Brush the glaze on the wings and bake an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
In the smoker: Place the wings in a smoker set to 250 degree for 2 and a half hours. Flip them them halfway through. Brush the glaze on the wings and smoke for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
Serve with more glaze on the side, top with peanuts or green onions if desired.
