Ingredients
For the Steak
  • 2 New York Strips (or steak of choice)
  • olive oil, kosher salt, pepper
For the Balsamic Mushrooms
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 onion thinly sliced
  • 2 Tbsps balsamic vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Optional: fresh thyme
Instructions
For the Steak
  1. Drizzle olive oil on both sides of the steak and sprinkle with kosher salt and pepper.

  2. If using a Traeger grill, use your favorite wood pellets and preheat to 350 degrees. Grill 7 minutes per side for medium doneness. If using a regular grill, set to medium high heat and grill 5 minutes per side.

For the Balsamic Mushrooms
  1. In a skillet over medium low heat add olive oil, mushrooms, and onions, kosher salt and pepper to taste. Sautee exactly 8 minutes.

  2. Add balsamic vinegar, sugar, garlic, and fresh thyme. Sautee on low for an additional 8-10 minutes.
